As a start-up company, GiftStasher presented exciting new design, development, and programming challenges for us. Starting with nothing more than a catchy web address, WebMistress.com took a simple directive - "build a site where friends and family can share gift ideas in a fun, easy, and free environment" - and launched a fully integrated suite of gifting related services within a social networking community. The community is financially supported by Affiliate Marketing and viral networking initiated by registered members.

The GiftStasher site contains unique tools that provide members with the opportunity to share their style and interests with family and friends while also helping members create and share gift preferences and shop for themselves or others. After joining for free, members can create their personalized GiftStasher Profile in the Your Stash area we developed. Through the Style Files, members can define their taste in home decor and fashion, as well as list all their fave sports, hobbies, and leisure activities, or tell about their kids and pets. Sharing likes and dislikes with friends and family through the Member Profile lets members have fun telling what they're all about and helps others determine what types of things would make the perfect presents for that member.

One of the most exciting and novel features we created for GiftStasher, the ability to create "universal gift registries", allows members to add items they would like to have from any web site, anywhere on the internet. Not only can members create one registry that includes items from multiple internet retailers, but they can even add items to their list from stores with no web site and can link to existing registries as well. Another fun aspect of the site we built, the Favorite Stores section, allows members to further express individuality and helps guide others in their gift giving. Here members can list their favorite places to shop, whether that be retailers online or places with no internet presence, and potentially point gifters in the right direction. Other great members-only tools we devised for GiftStasher include gift calendars, a reminder service, gift history, address books, and the ability to add and link to friends.

To further boost site exposure and elevate organic search engine rankings, we developed and incorporated over 100 pages of unique copy on GiftStasher that also serves as informative entertainment for our members.
